“Hold the door, say please, say thank you, don’t steal, don’t cheat, and don’t lie. I know you’ve got mountains to climb but always stay humble and kind”

“And a moment came that stopped me on a dime, I spent most of the next days, looking at the x-rays, talking about the options, and talking about sweet time, I asked him, when it sank in, that this really may be the end, how it’t hit you, when you get that kind of news, man what do you do?… I went skydiving, I went Rocky Mountain climbing, I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named fumanchu, and I loved deeper, spoke sweeter, and I gave forgiveness I’d been denying, someday I hope you get the chance, to live like you were dying”

“Cause that’s how you speak to a woman, that’s how you speak to a girl, that’s how you get with a lady, who’s worth more than anything in your whole world, you better respect your momma, respect the hell outta her, cause that’s how you talk to a woman, that’s how you speak to a girl”

Music is a powerful thing that makes everyone feel alive. Throughout this whole journey music has been one of my saving graces. It has been played when I just need myself to feel emotions again, numb from the pain of reality. When I go into my surgical scope this Thursday I know I will be full of peace as I ask for music to be played in the OR. Its always been my tradition to go back into the operating room fully awake, and then to request for music to be played as my body is put to sleep and I lose control. It is a known fact among the anesthesiologists. I choose music because music gives me control. It allows me to escape mentally and be in another world, instead of my reality. This Thursday I will not only go to sleep with music, but with the memories of a musical masterpiece Tim McGraw and Faith Hill gave our family. Seeing music live and seeing it being created brings me such a rush. It makes me feel alive. Music is a gift.
Thank you to everyone that made this night possible… Thank you to the catalyst, K2, Kristen Gibson. It is because of your drive and compassion that this happened! Thank you to the most magical manager that there is, Scott Siman. Meeting you last night was also such a pleasure. Thank you for welcoming us. Thank you to everyone at the BMO center for helping us with open and welcome arms. This is just another example of how wonderful people are. And thank you to Tim McGraw and Faith Hill for an amazing performance. It was beyond magical for my family and I. It was a night we will never forget. Thank you to everyone that spent so much time and energy into giving us the gift of music again.
“Always stay Humble and Kind”,

Hello Isabelle – we have never met, yet I feel like I know you just a little. A six degree of separation of sorts.
Our worlds have connected as you go to school with my loving niece Isabel & are friends with my beautiful friend Brittney.
Brittney lives near me in Everett, WA. She has been number one on my prayer list for years. Since B’s trip to Wisconsin I’ve been praying for you as well.
You are both strong young women who have touched the lives of so many including me.
I’ve enjoyed reading your blog. Great writing! You’re very talented.
Much love to you.
Xox Aunt Sara 🙂
