The Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) controls the functions that our bodies do not normally think about: heart rate, digestion, body temperature, pupil dilatation/constriction, blood pressure, and many other things. In Pots, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, the body is not able to control any of these things. This causes to tachycardia, a high heart rate, every time the affected individual stands. Orthostatic Hypotension causes a dangerous drop in blood pressure when standing vertically. Structural Autonomic Dysfunction is is a variant of Autonomic Dysfunction that is more severe meaning the cellular structure is damaged, such as in genetic conditions or mitochondrial diseases. These all lead to many issues that affect each thing an individual does throughout the day.
Ehlers Danlos is a condition that effects the amount of collagen your body produces. Collagen is basically the glue in your body that holds everything together.
