The body’s immune system is supposed to search for dangerous tissues and cells, and then proceed to destroy them. In an autoimmune disorder, your immune system all of the sudden misfires and begins to attack the healthy cells and tissues, and then proceeds to destroy them. It is essentially a little war going on inside of your body.
The Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) controls the functions that our bodies do not normally think about: heart rate, digestion, body temperature, pupil dilatation/constriction, blood pressure, and many other things. In Pots, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, the body is not able to control any of these things. This leads to many issues that affect each thing an individual does throughout the day.
Ehlers Danlos is a condition that effects the amount of collagen your body produces. Collagen is basically the glue in your body that holds everything together. In Ehlers Danlos Classic type there is not enough collagen. This causes for joint hyper mobility, dislocations, soft/velvety skin, stretchy skin, atrophic scaring, and many other issues. Classic Ehlers Danlos is a more severe form of Ehlers Danlos, and explains my disease progression.
The human body is full of mast cells. Mast cells are the power cells that holds what causes an allergic reaction in your body when you put something in it or near it that you should not do. In MCAD, these cells decide to let an allergic reaction happen whenever they please.Your body can randomly decide to give you a swollen face and the beginning stages of anaphylactic shock. For me this can occur randomly, but always occurs when I feel a sudden temperature change or try to work out as my body is allergic to the temperature change.
Gastroparesis is an illness that causes the stomach to not empty. In other words, the stomach does not really move. This illness is very hard to treat, and in severe cases, such as mine, it is a beast to battle.
Chronic intestinal pseudo obstruction is when the intestines act as there is a bowel obstruction, even though there is not one. It is a very aggressive motility disorder that can attack the whole gastrointestinal system along with the bladder.
