Magical Strings
As I am sure all of you know my family and I have been waiting to get into Nationwide again. That is what has been holding us back from making any progress. Until we were going to have a plan from them, we were just going to continue to tide me over. I really do believe in the power of prayer and positive vibes, and that belief I have really shined these past couple of days. Some magical strings have been pulled, because this girl is going to Nationwide next week!!! I am so thrilled. We were hearing that the wait could be until May 4th! That was just too long… Too much pain.
We also have quite the extensive itinerary for our stay there. I am a planner for sure! People that are close to me know that I always have my blue agate planner by my side. So in my type A style, I made a little schedule so everyone can understand our magnificent game plan!
- Sunday April 3rd: My Mom and I leave for Columbus Ohio.
- Monday April 4th: I am admitted to the hospital for a colon prep. I will most likely have the NJ placed again to help with this process.
- Tuesday April 5th: I will be taken down to the O.R. and be put under to have my doctor do a colonoscopy and also place the manometery catheter. Afterwards, we will begin the colonic manometery. This will be very similar to the antroduodenal manometery.
- Wednesday April 6th: I will have more imaging and tests done of my abdomen. Then we will meet with my doctors and discuss the results and come up with a plan.
- Thursday April 7th: We will hopefully be heading home!!!
I have to admit, I am a bit nervous for all that is to come. I know though that we will proceed as smoothly as possible.
These past few days have been a little rough for me. I have been experiencing so many of my symptoms acting up. I am hoping for them to mellow out a bit so I am able to do my best at Nationwide! It is always frustrating for me to miss school, but I know that I will be able to back soon!
As for my PICC line, we are still watching it! I am continuing to take my antibiotics twice a day. I am also still using the high risk dressing. Right now my team is trying to figure out what to do with the lovenox shots… We were told by my hematologist at Mayo that we must continue the lovenox shots prophylactialy for the duration of my PICC line. Shots in my tummy for months on end that leave purple bruises is not a lovely thing to look forward to. I am hoping to be off of them speedy quick as my abdomen is not looking nice, purple and all.
So until Nationwide, I am going to try and relax and get myself prepared! Golly am I so thankful for these magical strings.
So much love and hugs to all. Sending lots of joy,
Isabelle
